LANDLORD AND TENANT DISPUTES
Landlord and Tenant Board (LTB)
The Landlord and Tenant Board (LTB) hears applications concerning residential tenancy disputes between landlords and tenants. Landlords can bring forth an application for termination of tenancy on several grounds including the following: 1) non-payment of rent, 2) significant interference with the lawful rights or reasonable enjoyment of others, damage or overcrowding, 3) performing illegal acts or misrepresenting income in a rent-geared-to-income rental unit, 4) conduct causing serious damage or jeopardizing the safety of others and 5) personal use of the rental unit by the landlord or purchaser once the rental has been sold.

Tenants can bring forth an application against their landlords for rent abatement, compensation or for an order ending or altering an alleged problematic behaviour by the landlord on several grounds including: 1) discontinuance of a service or amenity, 2) neglect of maintenance issues, 3) violation of tenant rights and 4) termination of tenancy in bad faith.
If you are a Landlord or a Tenant looking for to bring forth an application to the LTB and would like representation for an application or representation in defence of an application, please contact our office today.
